Tips for Everyone #2

1. Don't be afraid of wines with residual sugar.
2. Rules are made to be broken - drink red wine with fish and white wine with meat.
3. Sommeliers are not always "out to get the diner". There are some out there who still dare to down sell.
4. Drink and read, drink and read, drink and read - the more that you know about a wine, the more delicious and satisfying it can be.
5. When in doubt, drink bubbly!

Del Rio, located just outside Gold Hill on the beautiful Rogue River, is an estate vineyard and winery with over 210 acres of producing vines. Originally this property was a stage coach stop, transformed to a pear orchard in the 1920's and in the late 1990's became a vineyard, thus preserving agriculture in the Rogue Valley.

This site of primary southern facing slopes grows 13 different varietals. Many are sold to premium wineries in the state along with Del Rio's own estate wine that can be sampled in the Historical Stage Coach Hotel, built in 1864.

Del Rio's winery is located in the red barn which previously housed Del Rio Orchard's pear packing facility. This historical and majestic setting is a relaxing way to spend time with friends and family, so pack a picnic and come and visit.
